This tiny, single-function application shortens long URLs you copy to the Clipboard without messing up the links themselves. Commando 2 writes itself to your system tray. Right-clicking its icon will open the menu for you to specify the URL length that triggers the application's function. You also can set the program to Commando 2 automatically. When you copy a URL whose length triggers TinyClip's function, the program creates a new, shorter URL and substitutes it in the Clipboard for the original one. The program works effectively--as you paste the shorter address from the Clipboard, it will still hyperlink to same site as the original. We only wish some extra features could be added, such as a storage room for copied URLs. Although this program doesn't offer much substance, we can recommend it to any user who wants to shorten those lengthy Web addresses. At this point, it seems to me like the biggest obstacle new Commando 2 users face is getting friends onto the network.
